App privacy policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Your photos belong to you. Momenter displays them on your iPad without altering the original image content, capture dates or recorded locations, or deleting photos. When you use a photo’s heart, Momenter changes its favourite status in Apple Photos as described below. The app does not upload your photos or photo metadata to us, and contains no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.

This policy covers the Momenter iPad app. Visiting this website or emailing us is covered by our website and support privacy policy.

Photos access

With your permission, Momenter reads photographs from Apple Photos to display your chosen library, Favourites or album. It reads photo identifiers, image dimensions, capture dates, favourite status and any location already recorded in the photos. Photo display and playback choices are handled on your iPad. Momenter does not track the iPad’s current location or require a separate Momenter account.

Full Photos access is needed to browse albums. With limited access, All photos and Favourites include only the photographs you have allowed. Momenter changes a photo’s favourite status only when Apple Photos permits that photo to be edited. You can change or revoke access in your iPad’s Settings under Privacy & Security → Photos → Momenter.

Favourites in Apple Photos

When you tap a photo’s heart, Momenter marks or unmarks that photograph as a favourite in Apple Photos. The Favourites source reads this same status. The change does not create a separate album, alter the image content, capture date or recorded location, or delete the photograph.

Apple may sync favourite changes through iCloud Photos according to your settings. Deleting Momenter does not reverse those changes or delete photographs or albums. Any “Momenter — Saved Photos” album created by an earlier version remains in Apple Photos and can be managed there or selected through Album in Momenter.

Optional Apple Maps location names

Photo metadata captions are optional. Displaying a photo’s capture date or recorded coordinates does not require sending them to us.

Location-name lookup has a separate, initially disabled setting. Before enabling it, Momenter asks whether it may send coordinates recorded in your photographs to Apple Maps to find a place name. The photograph itself is not sent in this request. Apple processes the request under its Apple Maps privacy information.

You can turn off Apple Maps location names in Momenter’s Settings at any time. This stops new lookups, cancels requests still in progress and clears Momenter’s cached place names. It cannot recall a request already sent to Apple. Local date and coordinate captions can remain available.

Local preferences, caches and iCloud

Momenter saves your source, album reference, order, interval and privacy choices locally. It temporarily holds photographs and location-name results for display. It does not maintain a separate uploaded photo library or a Momenter cloud account.

Apple Photos may download an image from your existing iCloud library when it is not available on the iPad. System-managed photo caches, iCloud synchronization and device backups follow your Apple settings. These Apple services are separate from Momenter’s developer.

Deleting the app removes its locally stored app settings from the device; offloading it can retain app data. Existing device backups and the Apple Photos library are managed separately through Apple’s controls.

Trial and purchases

Apple processes the optional 14-day trial and Complete Unlock purchase through the App Store. Momenter uses Apple’s purchase records on your iPad to check access: the purchased product, transaction identifier, original purchase date and whether access has been revoked. The original trial date determines when the 14 days end. Restore Purchases checks those records again using your Apple Account.

Momenter does not ask for or receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password. It does not send purchase records to a developer-operated server. Apple retains purchase history separately; deleting Momenter does not erase that history or restart a trial. See App Store & Privacy.

Diagnostics and support

Momenter includes no third-party analytics or crash-reporting service. Apple may make sales reports, usage statistics and crash diagnostics available to the developer through its own services, depending on the report and your Apple privacy settings. Information received this way is used to understand purchases and improve app reliability.

If you email us for help, we receive the address and information you choose to send. Please avoid sending private photographs, photo coordinates or passwords. Our support privacy information explains how we handle that correspondence.

Your choices and this policy

You control Photos permissions, the selected source and optional location lookups. We cannot retrieve, inspect or delete your photo library remotely. For information we hold through support correspondence, you can exercise the rights described in our website and support privacy policy.

We will update this page if the app’s privacy practices change and show the date above. Enabling a new optional use of your data will require an appropriate explanation and choice.
